SLASH Performs With ALTER BRIDGE In Hollywood; Video Available
January 5, 2011Legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES) joined ALTER BRIDGE on stage last night (Tuesday, January 4) at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood, California to perform the song "Rise Today". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be viewed below (courtesy of Metal Assault).
Slash previously performed "Rise Today" with ALTER BRIDGE on November 2, 2010 at Arenan in Stockholm, Sweden.
Slash wrote on his Twitter profile shortly after the Stockholm concert, "That was cool and totally unexpected. ALTER BRIDGE sounds fantastic live. First time I've seen them in person. I think we're going to do it again very soon."
ALTER BRIDGE singer Myles Kennedy has served as Slash's touring vocalist for the past several months, leading to speculation that the guitarist may try to recruit Kennedy to front VELVET REVOLVER — which is something that Slash has denied. "[Myles] is still committed to ALTER BRIDGE," Slash told BostonHerald.com. "I don't want to be the guy responsible for breaking up a band. But we'll find someone. Maybe not somebody known, but some kind of local hero."
Kennedy had actually been approached to sing for VELVET REVOLVER back in the early days of the group, and again after they parted ways with Scott Weiland, but turned down the offer both times.
